Finalists at Lord's!!
Having reached the last 8 of the BUSA Indoor Championships, we headed for Lord's with the hope of a good draw and aiming to reach the Final. We drew Bournemouth, Bath and Manchester and having beaten Bournemouth and Bath without looking hugely troubled, the game against Manchester loomed essentially as a semi-final with the winner winning the group and going through to the final! We put on a respectable 120 off 12 overs which meant Manchester would have to get just over 10 an over to win. However, we bowled and fielded magnificently to bowl Manchester out for 50 runs! We made it to the Final, which was against Loughborough!
We won the toss and sent Loughborough in to bat, and succeeded in bowling them out, albeit for a good 130 runs! In reply, we could only manage 85-5 but they didn't manage to bowl us all out and 85 was a good score against some very fast and accurate bowling! We came away with runners-up medals very proud of our great achievement at the home of cricket!
On Saturday 24th November, we played in the regional round of the BUSA Indoor Championships in York! We were pooled with Leeds Met and Durham, but still managed to come through to beat both and win the group! Now we are off to Lord's for the Finals!

The road to Lord's: Winners in York!
Unfortunately, we lost by about 20 runs to Leeds Met in this year's Varsity! However, we played well considering it was so early in the year!!
The 2007 season has been very interrupted by rearranged fixtures, cancellations and lots of extra travelling! However, although we came 4th in our league, we won the BUSA Trophy for the 2nd year in a row, beating the University of Brighton by 5 wickets in the Final!
In the White Rose league, most of our matches haven't been played due to rain or teams not being able to field a full team on the day. However, we have played 3 matches and although we lost all 3, everyone played really well and showed much improvement from when most of them started cricket as novices last September.
